Mineral Core Flooring
Mineral core flooring (also known as MgO or mineral rigid core) is a high-performance, PVC-free flooring alternative to traditional luxury vinyl. It is constructed with a core of inorganic mineral compounds—typically magnesium oxide (MgO) combined with magnesium chloride or sulfate—which makes it exceptionally stable, fire-resistant, and eco-friendly.
Key Benefits
-
100% Waterproof: Unlike wood or laminate, it does not swell or peel when exposed to moisture, making it ideal for kitchens and bathrooms.
-
Extreme Stability: The mineral core resists expansion and contraction from temperature changes. It can often be installed in areas up to 200 m² (over 2,100 sq. ft.) without the need for transition strips between rooms.
-
Superior Durability: It is virtually dent-proof and offers high resistance to scratches and heavy furniture indentations compared to softer vinyl options.
-
Fire & Health Safety: It typically achieves an A2 fire rating (non-combustible) and contains no PVC, formaldehyde, or phthalates, providing a healthier indoor air quality.
